Why it’s special
On the northern hills of Lucca, Villa Oliva Buonvisi is a 16th-century villa famed for its Renaissance water gardens. Terraces, lawns and a five-arched loggia open to fountains, statues and a playful nymphaeum. The mood is aristocratic yet easy, and the setting is pure Lucca countryside. Moreover, you’re minutes from the walled city for portraits and guest outings.
Ideal for
A multi-day, house-party wedding. Your inner circle stays close by in the estate’s dependance, which sleeps up to around 16. Larger groups lodge in nearby villas and boutique hotels while we keep the celebration centered in the gardens. Travel is simple via Pisa and Florence.
Wedding experience
Exchange vows in the tiered gardens with the fountains as your backdrop. Then slide into golden-hour cocktails under the trees and a long-table dinner in the Limonaia or on the main lawn. If you prefer full cover, the Limonaia works year-round; the historic Stables give you another elegant option. Should the forecast shift, we pivot indoors without losing atmosphere. Throughout, we curate catering, bar, music, lighting and styling with our trusted suppliers.
Capacities and layout
Ceremony: terraces or parterre facing the water features.
Aperitivo: shaded lawns by the nymphaeum.
Dinner: Limonaia up to roughly 200–220; Stables up to about 150; gardens scale for larger alfresco layouts when season allows. We right-size floor plans to reduce moves and protect sightlines for photos.
Good to know
The estate is part of Lucca’s network of monumental villas, known for their architecture and scenographic gardens. Between events, guests can tour the historic grounds or visit Lucca’s walls and nearby hill towns. Meanwhile, we handle timelines, permits, civil paperwork and church liaisons end to end, so your weekend stays calm and beautifully paced.
