Why it’s special
In the Maremma hills between Siena and the sea, Castello di Vicarello is a 12th-century castle wrapped in vineyards, olive groves and woodland. Terraces, gardens and travertine pools open to horizon views. Inside, ten one-of-a-kind suites mix heirloom pieces with contemporary comfort. A private two-bedroom villa, La Vedetta, adds its own heated marble pool and glasshouse kitchen. The result is historic, design-forward and quietly indulgent.
Ideal for
A multi-day, house-party wedding. On site you can sleep up to about 30 guests across the ten suites and La Vedetta. Everyone wakes to the same view, yet each space feels private. Overflow lodging is easy to arrange nearby while we keep the celebration centred at the castle.

Say your vows in the olive grove, the courtyard or on a view terrace. Then, ease into golden-hour cocktails by the pool and a long-table dinner under lights. If the season calls for cover, we pair an elegant indoor plan without losing the atmosphere. Throughout, we curate catering, bar, lighting, music and styling with our trusted suppliers—so the look stays coherent from aisle to last dance.
Capacities and layout
As planning benchmarks, ceremonies and receptions scale beautifully from intimate groups to large alfresco dinners, with guides citing guest counts up to around 150–200 outdoors. Indoors, linked salons and covered areas suit smaller seated plans and late-night dancing. We right-size the floor plan to your numbers and season, keeping moves short and sightlines clean for photos.
Good to know
The estate spans roughly 40 hectares and runs on a farm-to-table rhythm—kitchen gardens, award-winning olive oil and the castle’s own wines. Pools are a signature: two shared travertine pools for the suites plus La Vedetta’s private heated pool. Between moments, we can weave in cooking classes, tastings, spa time in the olive-grove gazebo or easy day trips to the Argentario coast. Travel is straightforward via Florence, Pisa or Rome.
